Once again, we found a fabulous hotel! This time we experienced a “Hotel We Love” in Milan, Italy; the lovely UNA Maison Milano Hotel.
In preparation for our Amazing Italy, France & Switzerland Road Trip, we were looking for a hotel that would be located right in the Historic Center of Milan and as far as we are concerned, we couldn’t have made a better choice.

We were happy to find the small hotel lobby was a light, elegant modern, Italian, oasis where we were warmly welcomed and efficiently checked in. Though diminutive, the lobby even hosts a petite bar area where you can gather for a late night drink before retiring or heading out for the evening.
In contrast, our large suite stretched across a long hallway giving us lots of room to put up our feet and unwind.
Speaking of our room….. Our suite at the UNA Maison Milano was exceptionally clean and fresh, the furnishings were stylish while the architecture still felt elegant and old-world. A dressing and desk area was conveniently right outside the bedroom in the hallway connecting the bedroom to the sitting room and bathroom.
As usual, we had booked our room a day ahead of our arrival, so that when we arrived in the morning after a long uncomfortable flight we were able to shower and jump into the fresh comfortable bed for a nap. This trick works for us every time and we woke a few hours later ready to explore Milan!

The large bathroom was very modern, marble tiled and spotless and to our delight, stocked with lots of free toiletries for our use.
One note regarding the bathroom…….. The strange shower had two corner doors which created an awkward entrance into the shower and required a couple towels on the floor to soak up leaking water and could probably have been re-thought. But this was a minor observation; even with the strange double door the shower was heavenly with lots of water pressure and hot water!

The sitting room down the hall from the bedroom provided a place to sit for a coffee or tea, with a separate TV as well as a mini-bar.
We purposefully booked a suite since Jim and I prefer to spread out and relax (preferably in separate suite locations!) at the end of a long day exploring a new city. Usually I take the bedroom with my IPAD updating social media, and Jim takes the sitting room with the laptop dealing with travel issues and checking email. Any couple who travels regularly can understand the need for “alone time”!

This is also where we dined when we ordered the in-room breakfast, which was delicious. The breakfast included an abundance of rolls, pastry, yogurts, and cereals, in addition to our order of coffee, eggs and bacon. It was truly a breakfast feast!
We also took advantage of the efficient laundry service and loved the easy-to-use Wi-Fi (VERY important to us!). Both are amenities we use on every trip!

Even while relaxing in our suite, we were continually drawn to the small balcony to check out our busy street-view of Milan.
Literally, just around the corner was the Piazza del Duomo which contains the fabulous Milan Cathedral, the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II, the Palazzo Reale and Milan’s famous high-fashion shops. There are also several cafés in and near the Piazza, a few with views of the Duomo and others nestled in the beautiful Galleria.
The well situated hotel is within walking distance of almost all of the major Milan sites, which we absolutely loved. For those who need transportation, it is also perfectly located near the Metro station, a taxi stand and even a stop where you can get onto the “Hop-on-Hop-off” tour bus.
The UNA Maison Milano Hotel was everything we could have hoped for and we were well pleased. We had a great time in Milan and highly recommend it for your stay!
